the fall in between
Full length solo.
This solo speaks about the need to shed layers of social identity which link to self-exigence, arriving to an interaction free of expectations. Starting with an act of generosity, the performer offers to the audience the material and immaterial that surrounds them by intertwining dance and words, facts and metaphors. As the piece unfolds and the possibilities for offering are exhausted, the performer realizes what the audience is offering through their gaze and the wish grows to make it perpetual. This initiates an unfulfillable physical task of grasping the intangible, which compels the performer to unfold his fragility and eventually relinquish his role as the epicenter of the circle.
The audience, who is both observer and observed, becomes a vital part of the cathartic process in a setting of communion.
